  1. Public Notice No.28 dated 10th October, 2003 deletes Note 11 (regarding Natural Rubber) under the General Notes of All Export Product Groups as contained in the Hand Book of Procedures Vol. 2.

  2. Notification No.20 dated 8th October, 2003 restricts export of onion through State Trading Enterprises (STEs).

  3. BIS restrictions on import of 33 steel items viz. Galvanised Steel Sheets, Mild Steel Wire for general engineering purposes, Mild Steel & Medium Tensil Steel Bars, Cold Rolled Carbon Steel Sheets, Hot Rolled Steel Strips, Hot Rolled Carbon Steel Sheet and Stripe, Rivet Bars, Carbon Steel Billets/ blooms/slabs and bars, etc. listed at Sl. No. 77 to 109 in Appendix III to Schedule I (Imports) of ITC (HS) of Exports and Imports have been withdrawn. This will facilitate easy import of steel in view of firming of domestic prices.   4. Policy Circular No.17 dated 10th October 2003 issues guidelines/clarifications regarding Duty Free Import of Natural Rubber.

  5. Policy Circular No.18 dated 21st October, 2003 announces decentralization of the work relating to fixation of Brand Rates of Drawback for supplies categorized as Deemed Exports.
