Department of Revenue
- Baggage Duties have been reduced from 50% to 40% by Notification No. 33/3004 dated 3rd February, 2004
- Customs Duties have been reduced from 10% to 5% on pig iron, 15% to 5% on non-coking coal and 5% to nil on
coking coal of ash content below 12% by Notification No. 44/2004-Customs dt 28th February, 04.
- Notification No. 13/2004-CUS.(NT) dated 3rd February, 2004 amends certain provisions of the Baggage Rules, 1998.
- Powers have been delegated to the Asstt./Deputy Commissioners of Customs to extend the date of filing of Supplementary
Drawback Claims for a further period of 9 months by amending Rule 15 of the Customs and Central Excise Duties Drawback
Rules, 1995 vide Notification No. 14/2004-Cus.(NT) dated 6th February, 2004.
- Notification No. 21/2004-Cus.(NT) dated 23rd February, 2004 Notifies Customs House Agents Licensing Regulations, 2004.
- Duty Drawback on items of Iron & Steel under Chapter 72 of Duty Drawback Schedule 2003-04 has been suspended w.e.f.
27th March, 2004, by Notification No. 29/2004-Cus.(NT) dt. 28th February, 2004.
- DEPB benefits in respect of supplies made by DTA Units to SEZ Units will be available only when Chapter XA of Customs
Act pertaining to SEZ Scheme is brought into operation, as per Circular No. 11/2004-Cus. dated 5th February, 2004.
- Import of any Capital goods required by the Service Providers for rendering service will be permitted under DFCEC
Scheme as has been clarified in Circular No. 12/2004-Cus. dated 5th February, 2004.
