- Special Economic Zones (SEZs) Rules 2003 and SEZ (Customs Procedures) Regulation 2003 will now come into force from
15th day of October, 2003 as per Notification No. 64/2003-Cus. (N.T.) and Notification No. 65/2003-Cus (N.T.) both dated
14th August, 2003.
- Circular No.72/2003-Cus dated 11th August, 2003 clarifies that clearance of goods from bonded warehouses will also be
allowed under DEPB schemes where the bonded warehouse falls under the jurisdiction of Central Excise Commissionerate. In
such cases Customs House at the port of registration of DEPB scrips will issue TRA as usual to the jurisdiction Central
Excise Commissionerate where the bonded warehouse is located.
- Central Excise Circular No.736/52-2003 dated 11th August, 2003 extend the facility of self sealing and self
certification of export goods to all categories of manufacturer exporters subject to compliance of the stipulated
procedures.
