Continuation of Deemed Export Benefits under Para 190 (f) and 220 (3) of Import Export Policy 1988-91 for Supply of
Turbine and Motor Generator sets for River Body Project House of Sardar Sarvor Narmada Project in the wake of withdrawal
of OEC funds has been announced vide Public Notice No.4 dated 3rd April, 2003.
Vide Notification No.4 dated 2nd April 2003 export of balance quantity of Onions released under earlier Notifications,
has been allowed up to 30th June 2003.
A new Appendix IV to Schedule I of ITC (HS Classifications) of Export and Import Items 2002-2007 containing a list of
countries which are parties to the Montreal Protocol on substances that deplete the Ozone layer has been
appended vide Notification No.6 dated 21st April, 2003.
Vide Notification No.7 dated 22nd April, 2003 the 22nd sentence of sub Paragraph 3 of Paragraph of 3.8 has been
corrected to read as Hotels (having approval as three star or above categories by the Department of Tourism,
Government of India) and other service providers in tourism sector registered with Department of Tourism, Government of
India shall be entitled for duty free imports equivalent to 5% of the average foreign exchange earned by them in the
preceding three years subject to a minimum average foreign exchange earning of Rs.10 lakhs in the preceding three years.
Export of Stone Aggregate and River Sand to Maldivas has been made free during 2003-2004 subject to issue of No
Objection Certificate within the annual ceiling by the Chemical and Allied Products EPC (CAPEXIL) vide Notification No.8
dated 24th April, 2003
Vide Policy Circular No 1 dated 17th April 2003 Import of consignment of grey/raw textiles products which are useable
as raw white and industrial products i.e. transmission belts/pressure belts which do not come into direct contact with the
human body have been exempted from the condition of production of pre-shipment certificate subject to an Undertaking from
the importer to the concerned Customs authorities to this effect at the time of imports.
